Happy Monday, my friends! I write to you a smidge more slowly than usual because I once again got tempted by witchy press on nails that are far too long for me to function. I feel super cool and magical… until I try to type. Thankfully it’s not my first trip down this road so I’ve gotten a bit better even if I’ll never be a pro like some of these folks I see out here living life with superlong nails.
Anyway, I’m guessing most of you didn’t come here for chit chat about manicures, so… let’s dig in to the reading recs and tarot reading for the week!
Book Rec of the Week
A friend introduced me to Pam Grossman’s The Witch Wave podcast a while ago, and I recently got back into it. She mentioned that she had a book coming out, which means said book already exists since I’m back in 2019 episodes. This led me to pick up the audio of her book Waking the Witch: Reflections on Women, Magic, and Power. In it, Grossman examines our societal representations of witches and what they say about us and our ideas about women. I think this is a fascinating cultural examination, whether you are witchy or not.
Tarot Reading of the Week
Card of the Week: Knight of Charisma
Deck Used: Dungeons & Dragons Tarot
This card is an invitation to find joy and comfort in our routines. Sure, daily life is full of responsibilities and tasks that need our attention, but that doesn’t mean it has to suck! This knight finds solace in a job well done and asks you to consider how you might do the same (yes, even with your laundry).

Words From the Web
I remembered to actually bookmark some great reads this week!
Somehow, Medium’s algorithm knew I’ve recently gotten back to shopping at Aldi and served me this hilarious piece about the Aldi quarter from Kendra Sparkles.
I also enjoyed Sally Prag’s reflections on finding silence on a meditation retreat and on a solo cycling trip.
As for me, I put out a review of Hulu’s Tiny Beautiful Things adaptation, by which I was pleasantly surprised.
And so it is! Hope you have the best possible Monday and that you’re able to enjoy the mundane a bit this week.
