Hello and happy Monday, my friends! We’ve arrived at the start of another week in April, and I’m waiting for the moment when it stops being 30 degrees in the mornings.

I slept pretty well last night but am, for whatever reason, a bit groggy, so I’m going to keep this week’s intro fairly short and jump right in to the good stuff.

Book Rec of the Week

It’s always a bit of a bummer when I don’t feel like recommending any of my more recent reads, but it’s been a few weeks of “just okay” reading for me. Because my brain is exhausted, I’m recommending something that’s just plain fun today—the first Sarah’s Scribbles collection, Adulthood is a Myth.

This collection of Sarah Anderson’s highly relatable doodles always brings me joy and reminds me that days like today, where I don’t quite feel like I’ve got the motivation in me, are perfectly okay. This week’s recommendation also comes with a bonus judgemental look from the ever-sassy blue heeler pup, Azula. Enjoy.

Tarot Reading of the Week

Card of the Week: Strength

Deck Used: The Dungeons & Dragons Tarot

The Strength card offers a reminder that you’ve got what it takes to push through whatever obstacles are in your way right now. Sure, things may not be as easy as you’d like, but you are a match for your mountain as the saying goes. You’ve got this!

Words from the Web

As someone who frankly isn’t all that into cinema, I weirdly enjoy reading Simon Dillon’s reviews. Will I see even a fraction of the films he does? Nope. But he did see Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and I was a bit pleased to read his review and see that our opinions on it largely align.

Speaking of my opinions, I wrote a review of Honor of Among Thieves myself, which you can find here.

Now that spring is really happening in earnest, there are so many birds flitting about our property. I’ve become slightly obsessed with them, and I wrote a bit about it for Age of Empathy, here.

And so we have our short(ish) and sweet roundup of reading recommendations and Tarot wisdom!
